Music service from Facebook?
2011-07-11
Another look at the code of Facebook's Skype-powered video programme exposes reference to a product known as "Vibes" With Facebook's Skype-powered video chatting services latterly launched, one eager software engineer and analyst made a decision to take another look at the desktop app's code. On inspection, Jeff Rose revealed that the application installer supports 2 applications. "Peep" was the 1st, and refers to the video chatting customer, while the other one is know as "Vibes". While details are limited, "Vibes" might be a reference to an internet music service offered by Facebook that is still in the works, suggesting the social networking giant's next major update. Or it may refer to a product that Facebook has historically canned and neglected to remove out of the code, it appears time will tell.
